About Me

Welcome to Redwood Counseling & Wellness. I’m Taylor, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist based in Texas. My passion is helping parents and individuals understand the unique wiring of their brain—or their child’s brain—so they can make informed decisions that lead to greater peace and fulfillment.

My primary focus is on play therapy, a developmentally-appropriate form of therapy for children ages 3-10. Play is a child’s natural language, and through this powerful therapeutic approach, I help children process their feelings, develop emotional resilience, and navigate life’s challenges in a safe, supportive environment. I also enjoy educating parents about their child's behaviors and how to create accommodations that support their unique needs.

In addition to play therapy, I have lived experience as a neurodivergent person, which allows me to provide deeply neurodiversity-affirming care. Whether you’re a parent seeking to understand your child’s autism or ADHD diagnosis, an individual exploring life as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP), or an adult working through childhood emotional neglect, I’m here to guide you with compassion, knowledge, and lived experience.

What I Offer

At Redwood Counseling & Wellness, I specialize in play therapy, and my approach integrates a variety of therapeutic modalities such as Synergetic Play Therapy, AutPlay Therapy, attachment theory, polyvagal theory, and interpersonal neurobiology. These tools allow me to support my clients in understanding the "why" behind their behaviors and emotions, providing long-term healing rather than quick fixes.

In addition to working with children through play therapy, I also offer Synergetic Psychotherapy for teens and adults seeking a more embodied, experiential approach to healing. This model is an expansion of the Synergetic Play Therapy approach, tailored for older teens and adults.

Rooted in neuroscience, attachment theory, and interpersonal neurobiology, Synergetic Psychotherapy helps you explore your inner world while developing a deeper understanding of your nervous system, emotions, and relationships. This model is especially powerful for those who have experienced emotional dysregulation, trauma, or chronic stress and are looking for more than just talk therapy.

Whether you're navigating anxiety, sensory overwhelm, identity exploration, or relational challenges, this approach supports you in creating new patterns of regulation, self-understanding, and empowerment—without bypassing the complexities of your lived experience.

You don’t have to be “good at talking about your feelings” to benefit from this work. We focus on authentic connection, mindful awareness, and nervous system regulation, so you can feel more at home in yourself and more connected in your life.

I completed a 200-hour yoga teacher training at Blue Anjou, and although I no longer teach yoga, I integrate mindfulness and body-awareness practices into my sessions to help clients learn to regulate their nervous systems.

In addition to therapy, I offer consulting services for other professionals, and I am excited to offer educational speaking engagements.

Who I Work With

My services are a great fit for:

  • Parents who want to better understand their child’s unique neurodivergent brain and how to create a supportive, thriving environment.

  • Children struggling with anxiety, anger, meltdowns, or other concerning behaviors.

  • Highly Sensitive People or Highly Sensitive Children who need help navigating their sensitivities and overwhelming emotions.

  • Autistic adults or ADHDers looking for tools and insights to better navigate life.

  • Survivors of childhood emotional neglect or emotionally immature parents who are ready to heal and grow.

My approach is especially helpful for families who are committed to embracing, rather than changing or suppressing, their child’s neurodivergence or sensitivities.

A Little More About Me

Outside of therapy, I enjoy spending time with my fiancé and our family of cats and kittens. When I’m not working, you can often find me in the kitchen baking or exploring new restaurants as a self-proclaimed "foodie." I also love to read and am always discovering new music to sing or play along to. You’ll often find me exploring new hobbies - typically whatever has sparked my interest at the time as these are often shifting!

I’m passionate about offering consulting and educational workshops to parents, schools, and professionals, sharing the knowledge I’ve gained from my practice to support neurodivergent individuals and their families.
